Fill and Sign PDF Online — Free, Private, No Upload
Fill and sign PDF documents directly in your browser — no account, no waiting. This free PDF form filler works with any PDF, whether it has interactive form fields or not. Fill in text fields, mark checkboxes, select from dropdown menus and add one or more signatures anywhere on the page. All processing happens locally in your browser, so your file never leaves your device.
When you are finished, save the filled PDF in two ways: flatten the form to lock in your entries and create a clean, final document, or keep the fields editable so you or others can continue filling it later. The fill and sign PDF tool handles standard AcroForm fields automatically — fields are detected on load so you can tap or click straight into them. For PDFs with no form fields at all, simply add your signature and save. No software to install, no sign-up required.
The tool auto-detects standard AcroForm fields as soon as your PDF loads. Text fields, checkboxes and dropdown menus are highlighted so you can tap or click straight into them. For PDFs that have no interactive form fields at all, you can still add signatures and save the result. XFA forms (an advanced format used in some government and enterprise PDFs) cannot have their fields filled in the browser, but you can add signatures to those documents as well.
To sign a document, tap or click Add Signature and draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad or finger. You can also select a signature image from your device. Once created, tap or click anywhere on a page to place the signature, then drag to reposition it and drag a corner to resize it. You can place multiple signatures on different pages of the same document — useful for contracts and multi-page agreements that require initials on every page.
Common use cases include signing rental agreements and lease forms, completing tax documents, filling out job applications and onboarding paperwork, signing NDAs and vendor contracts and submitting insurance or medical consent forms. Teachers and administrators fill out student evaluation forms. Small-business owners sign purchase orders and invoices. Legal professionals prepare execution copies of agreements. Because the tool runs entirely in your browser, it is safe to use with documents that contain personal, financial or legally sensitive information.
The traditional alternative — printing a PDF, signing by hand, scanning it back in — wastes time and degrades quality. Desktop signing tools like Adobe Acrobat require a paid subscription. Many online services upload your file to a remote server, introducing privacy risk for sensitive documents. CanaryPDF handles the entire workflow in your browser: no upload, no account, no subscription. The result is a fast, private way to fill and sign PDFs that works on any device with a modern browser.
